Gene Drive Regulation
In Germany and Europe, the political debate on the regulation of gene drive technology is still in its infancy. Internationally, too, there are still no binding specific guidelines for handling or regulating the new technology. The UN Convention on Biological Diversity and its subordinate Cartagena Protocol on Biosafety have been discussing the issue since 2015.
