“Business as Usual is Not an Option!” was the conclusion of a The Global Agriculture Report on the state of agriculture published by 400 scientists working on behalf of the United Nations (UN) and World Bank. If we continue to use the industrial agricultural model of the last century we will fail to overcome the problems of hunger and malnutrition, climate change and resource scarcity, the destruction of biodiversity and pollution that have dominated the past century.
Since 2003 here at “Save our Seeds” we have worked on the supervisory board of the International Assessment of Agricultural Knowledge, Science and Technology for Development (IAASTD). Through this cooperation we have produced an easy to read document that summarises the findings of the report called, ‘Escaping the Hunger Crisis: Wege aus der Hungerkrise.
